For a while now I've been meaning to read a bit about the Dreyfus affair. Are there any knowledgeable readers out there who can steer me to one or two good books on the subject? Many thanks, in advance.
Posted by Chris at July 19, 2004 09:10 AMonly book on french intelligence i've heard of (hmmmm, read that back to yourself):
Douglas Porch's The French Secret Services...believe it starts with Dreyfus, it's on the shelf...not read it yet.
Posted by: Spaz at July 19, 2004 09:49 AMMy proper knowledge of France begins about 40 years later, unfortunately. Stuff about Emile Zola and Leon Blum (whom I believe was to some degree radicalized by the Affair) will no doubt overlap in some way, that's as good as I can do on the spot I 'm afraid.
It's not like you're giving prizes...
