I’ve used FeedDemon (for Windoze) as my RSS aggregator for several years now. I see that it’s now being offered for free, which is a very good deal indeed, since it is one of the only pieces of software on my computer that I was happy to pay for. FeedDemon syncs with a web based rss aggregator, so you can use FeedDemon on your computer at home and then while away the day at work reading from the web based rss aggregator. (I never use this feature, so I’m not recommending this in particular.)
Here’s an account of RSS in case you’re unfamiliar with the concept. (The last few semesters that I’ve taught, I’ve asked students if they knew about RSS feeds, and very few did.) If you’re familiar with the concept, but not convinced it’s an improvement over just clicking on bookmarks, you should really try it.

This doesn’t seem possible in the version of Feed Demon I just downloaded. I *was* given the option of importing my bloglines subscription, but the option to sync with bloglines rather than newsgater-online doesn’t seem to be there. Am I missing something?

Wow. I think that’s seriously out of date. They got rid of channel groups after version 1.5, I think. (Which is the reason I still use 1.5.)
I’m not sure how to fix that.

Thanks. After playing with FeedDemon and Newsgater for a bit, I’m sticking with bloglines. I don’t need to have my feeds on my computer for offline reading. Indeed, after just discovering Bloglines Beta, and using it for a week or so, I went back to the non-beta version. I guess I just like my feeds without so many bells and whistles. Just the facts, M’am. Just the facts.–Oh, and bloglines mobile, which uses skweezer, works perfectly on this, my new toy.
