Oh, Chris and Yoon, I was so moved by this lovely obit/tribute. I laughed out loud at your anecdotes, and got all teary over the gorgeous photos. What a beauty he was! I’m so sorry for your loss. What wonderful stories, memories, and photos you retain of your sweet friend. And Coltrane was very lucky to have you two as his family. We’re thinking of you.

Hi, Yoon and Chris. I’m very very sorry to hear this sad news. I’ve always missed you guys and used to talk about Coltrane with Poe(my old cat), since I left Toronto.
I can imagine how big and quiet your place would be.
Cotrane was a really lovely lovely dog, even though he has a huge appetite. I remember vividly what he was.
Take care of yourselves, and console your grief each other. He loved you for his life.

Oh Chris and Yooni, I’m so, so sorry to hear about Coltrane. This is a wonderful tribute to him and I’m sure you blessed his life just as much as he blessed yours. I’ll always remember him crawling into my sleeping bag as I slept in Yoon’s apartment in Kingston one summer. Needless to say, I pretty much slept on the floor that night as he slept fitfully under the covers the entire night. I’m thinking of both of you lots during this hard time. Take care of yourselves.

I’m terribly sorry to hear this sad news, Chris and Yoon. I quite enjoyed the stories and pictures of Coltrane that made their way to the blog now and then. These always made clear what an important and special part of your family he was.

Thanks everyone. Yeah, we loved him very much. And as I used to tell him all the time, he was my favourite beagle in the whole apartment.

Among the items I forgot to mention on Coltrane’s list of things eaten: 30 pairs of shoes (not necessarily swallowed, but totally ruined). He only did that when he was a pup, thank goodness.

I was just telling the story of Coltrane’s conquest of the fridge, and moving the chair to get up on the counter, at a party last weekend.

You guys gave him such a good life. I’m with you on his being a French maitre ‘d. Thank you for the pictures.

I love that picture of him watching TV.

I and cried for a full day over a kitten who died 24 hours after taking her in; I can’t begin to imagine how you and Yoon feel. Your place is going to seem so different without him.

I’m so very sorry. Thanks for sharing all the wonderful tales of Coltrane’s exploits and the photos. I especially love his pensive look in the banner pic and the shot of him wistfully watching Alton Brown is priceless.

You two take good care of each other and remember the joy he brought you, and you to him.
