it could be owned by syrians. “sham” is the arabic word (well, one of them) for damascus, and sometimes syria as a whole. that leads to a lot of unintentional puns. if electoral reform ever happens in syria and they finally get to vote for their city council, no doubt it will be a sham election

i wouldn’t call youself ignorant, i’m just making a blind guess that there might be some syrian connection. i have no basis for believing that other than the word “sham”, but i still just thought i would throw it out there
